Can the system be triggered by an external switch as well as the timer?

I have an existing home with standard hot water heat, no easy way to run a separate return line. The kitchen faucet is the furthest from the heater, and I'd like to put the Heat H2O under that sink to speed warm up. I have a switched outlet in that location, and it would be very handy to use that as a way to call for hot water in addition to/or instead of, the timer. Is that possible?
